About Us
Odd Man Out
Odd Man Out was founded over 10 years ago by Sammy Powell & Denny Meier, who wanted to put a band together with some of their co-workers from their day jobs as Civil Engineers. The name of the band came from the fact that Travis Riker, the lead vocalist, was the only non-engineer in the band.
The original lineup included Sammy on rhythm guitar, Denny on drums, Travis on lead vocals, Mike Wright on bass guitar and Joe Como on lead guitar. In 2007, Mike & Joe left the band and were replaced by Jeff Duggins and Kyle Smith, respectively. Since then we’ve played many venues in Cobb County and the surrounding area, and private events and conferences in places as widespread as Jacksonville, Chicago, and Pensacola.
We play mostly blues and classic rock from the 60’s – 80’s, with a smattering of newer material to keep Travis from revolting. We’re happy to discuss playing for your birthday, wedding reception, or other private event, and of course, if you’re booking for a public venue, you’re our new best friend!
